The Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales

The Fleece Yorkshire is situated in Richmond. It really is a beautiful Yorkshire Dales market town overlooked by its Norman castle, beautiful Georgian architecture, a bustling market place teeming with pubs, shops and cafes.

It also has nature on its doorstep with the River Swale winding its way through the town. Richmond is full of walkers all year round as there is so much to see and so many walking trails to explore.

At the heart of the Coast To Coast Walk

The Coast To Coast Walk is a 182 mile walk that stretches from St Bees in Cumbria to Robin Hood’s Bay in North Yorkshire. Richmond, and The Fleece is a traditional overnight (or two) stopover as is the only town along the whole route and is more-or-less the halfway point.

For many people it is a chance to rest up, enjoy a nice comfortable bed, a warm dinner and a drink or three. We welcome all Coast To Coast Walkers to join us for a well earned break before they set off on their journey again.
